Callisto’s Most Adorable Kvortlann Competition Concludes

Another year, another kvortlann! This year brought unprecedented controversy to the competition, which permitted non-elites to participate for the first time. The decision sparked massive outrage among Rioran elites throughout the Empire, as many planets invest considerable sums in sending elites to Callisto to raise kvortlanns in order to earn the prestige of victory. Elite representatives at first threatened to withdraw from the competition entirely, but unknown concessions were made during a five-day talk with the heads of the competition, and the elites withdrew their complaints.

Still, many onlookers anticipated a diminished standard of competition. When it was announced that one of the judges would be non-elite, a similar outrage ensued, but eventually the competition was finalized, and it went off without a hitch. Not surprisingly, the competition was won by an elite, suggesting that perhaps worries of an unfair advantage for non-elites were misguided.
