Exclusive Interview with Imperial Middleweight Champion Thylina
Lathrec: Wow, congratulations, what a fight! You really put your opponent in their place with that final kick. Impressive. And it’s not just tonight. You’ve had quite the season.
Thylina: [flashes smile] Undefeated.
Lathrec: What do you attribute your success this season to? I heard you had a new training routine.
Thylina: That definitely made a difference. Normally, I’d take regular off days, but my handler suggested alternating-
Lathrec: Tell me, Thylina, you’re known as “Pit Viper.” What does that mean to you?
Thylina: Oh, uh, well, I mean, I’m fast, and I’m deadly. Can’t get much faster or deadlier than a pit viper, can you? [laughs] When my partner told me they were calling me that, I was thrilled. Nothing greater than getting a nickname you love from your fans.
Lathrec: That was nearly a decade, wasn’t it? You were dubbed “Pit Viper” in your second season.
Thylina: I only started eight years ago. I’m not that old.
Lathrec: Ah, yes, right when the arena was established on Galio. I’m sure you’re aware of the other arena favorite here in Galio-
Thylina: [sharply] I concern myself with opponents I might actually face. Even if he was in my division, I only fight guild members.
Lathrec: Right, of course, he’s in such an interesting position with the guild. But you regularly fight on other planets, too, correct? I hear you completed four of your qualifying fights in Rior itself!

Lathrec: Well no need to dwell on that, I hear Callisto was also a stop for you. I’m sure that was pleasant.
Thylina: Yeah, love it there. The Kvortlanns are a real treat to play with. Just had their Most Adorable Kvortlann competition. [laughs] I think it had more spectators than my fight. So if you ever get to Callisto, make sure to go in spring to catch that.
